Yavapai County, AZ (December 14, 2019) – Deputies are investigating after a dead body was found at a site of a plane crash in Yavapai County on Friday.
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, a rancher reported finding remnants of a plane crash on remote ranchland off of Flower Pot Road, just east of milepost 117.
When deputies arrived in the area, confirmed the findings and called out rescue teams to search the area, they discovered that the crashed aircraft was a fixed-wing single-engine type. The National Transportation Safety Board was notified and took over the investigation. It is unclear if other victims were involved. The deceased man’s identity has not been released.
Our condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
According to the Aviation Safety Network, only one fatality accident occurs in every three million flights. However, injuries and crashes involving small planes are more common and can occur due to pilot error, faulty equipment or inclement weather. Though airplane accidents are rare, they are often traumatic, both physically and emotionally. If you’ve been injured in a plane crash, you should contact a personal injury attorney to review your options.
