Tucson, AZ (October 14, 2019) – A woman was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a car crash near Ajo Way and Benson Highway on Monday evening.

According to officers with the Tucson Police Department, the adult woman was examined by Tucson paramedics at the scene and was determined to have life-threatening injuries. Eastbound Ajo Way was shut down at Benson Highway while officers worked to determine the cause of the wreck. Traffic was restricted in the westbound lanes while crews cleared the wreckage.

The injured woman arrived at the hospital around 7:30 p.m., said Officer Frank Magos, a Tucson Police Department spokesman. However, he did not give any updates on her current condition or the extent of the other drivers’ injuries.
