Tucson, AZ (January 9, 2020) – Authorities are searching for a driver that they say is responsible for a crash that killed a girl and a woman on Saturday.
Bruce Stocker, 40, left an area hospital on Monday while being treated for injuries from the crash. He faces charges of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated DUI, and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer after the accident. On January 4, Pima County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the rollover collision around 6:00 p.m. on Snyder Road, just west of Houghton Road.
Paloma Gavino, 26, and a 13-year-old girl in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Stocker and two other passengers in his vehicle were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to a department news release.
Anyone with information about Stocker’s current whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME, an anonymous tip line.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family of Paloma Gavino and the other deceased victim at this time. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
