Tucson, AZ – Officer Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at Valencia Intersection


Tucson, AZ (September 3, 2019) – Around 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September 2, police confirmed that an officer was injured in a two-vehicle crash at a local intersection.

According to authorities, the accident took place between a white pickup truck and a deputy’s vehicle at Mission and Valencia Roads.

At the time, a sergeant with Pima County was traveling northbound on Mission Road and went through the intersection of Valencia Road. A pickup truck had been headed westbound with two minor passengers. The pickup truck did not stop at the red light.

The truck ran into the passenger’s side of the patrol vehicle. All parties, including all within the pickup truck and the deputy, were taken to local area hospitals with injuries. They are all expected to survive.

At this time, no citations have been issued but the investigation into the accident continues.
