Tucson, AZ (November 27, 2020) – One man is dead after he was hit by a train in midtown Tucson in the early morning hours on Tuesday.

Per reports from the Tucson Police Department, the man was hit just after 4:30 p.m. Tim McMahan, a representative for Union Pacific Railroad, said that the accident occurred in the area south of Miracle Mile, which is located near Interstate 10 and Grant Road.

Train crews were not injured, but details are limited and it’s still unclear what led up to the collision. Local EMTs were seen in the area, but it’s unknown whether they were able to transport the man to a hospital or if he was found dead at the scene.

TPD authorities and officials with Union Pacific Railroad are still investigating the circumstances of the crash at this time. No further details were made available.
