Tucson, AZ (December 1, 2019) – A multi-car wreck on Interstate 10 near Irvington Road and Miracle Mile resulted in serious injuries and major road closures on Sunday evening.
Per reports from the Tucson Police Department, traffic investigators responded to a collision on I-10 near Miracle Mile around 5:30 p.m. A public information officer with the Tucson Police Department said that at least two vehicles were involved in the accident, though they did not give specific information about the make and model of each vehicle or the drivers involved. Fire rescue units and EMTs arrived at the scene to treat victims, but it’s unclear if any of the injured individuals were transported to the hospital.
The right eastbound lanes of I-10 were closed while authorities cleared the wreckage and investigated the cause of the accident. No further information is available at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a quick recovery.
The Arizona Department of Transportation’s most recent accident report showed that there were more than 130,000 crashes across the state in 2018. Unfortunately, these wrecks resulted in numerous injuries for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. In fact, at least 37,000 wrecks involved at least two victims with serious injuries that required urgent medical attention or hospitalization.
When drivers or their passengers sustain injuries in a serious accident, they often have to cope with both physical problems and emotional trauma. Whether it’s documenting their injuries and negotiating with insurance companies or dealing with lost wages, victims pay the price for other drivers’ negligence. Thankfully, victims and their families can seek help from a personal injury lawyer, especially if they’ve been involved in a wreck that occurred through no fault of their own.
