Tucson, AZ (December 9, 2019) –A crash involving a jackknifed tractor-trailer caused heavy delays on westbound Interstate-10 and resulted in at least one injury on Monday morning.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the crash happened around 6:00 a.m. near Ruthrauff Road. It’s unclear how the accident happened, though it appears that the truck may have hydroplaned and hit the guardrail, causing it to jackknife. Another vehicle collided with the truck after the initial collision.
Tucson paramedics were at the scene to treat the occupants of the passenger car. The truck driver’s identity, as well as their current condition, is not known at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
In 2012, there were almost 12,500 truck and bus collisions, 97 of which resulted in deaths in Arizona. And nearly 2,728 truck collisions have ended in death, making them some of the most serious and dangerous road accidents.
If you have been injured or lost a loved one in one of these accidents, it is a good idea to speak with a truck accident attorney or an Arizona wrongful death attorney about your options moving forward.
