Tempe, AZ (February 11, 2020) – The westbound lanes of the U.S. 60 in Tempe were closed following a serious crash on Tuesday night.

According to officers from the Tempe Police Department, the accident happened just west of the Loop 101 near McClintock Drive around 7:00 p.m. Officials from the Department of Public Safety said that the crash was caused by a car that was stopped in the middle lane.

A total of four vehicles were involved. At least two people had to be extricated and suffered serious injuries. Two more adults were hospitalized but their injuries weren’t considered life-threatening.

Emergency responders also evaluated an additional six people, including four children, but they did not need to be taken to a hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
