Tempe, AZ – Child Dies After Tempe Auto Accident Near Southern Avenue


Tempe, AZ (June 23, 2019) – A toddler has died after an auto accident in Tempe on Saturday morning, June 22nd. The crash occurred near Southern Avenue and McClintock Drive.

According to the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department (TFMRD) and police, the crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, when the vehicle involved veered off the road and collided with a light pole. The vehicle was traveling westbound on Southern Avenue when it left the road.

The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious injuries but was listed in stable condition on Sunday. The toddler sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash and died from those injuries on Sunday morning.

Impairment is being investigated as a factor in the crash, per the Tempe Police Department. Our thoughts and condolences to the victims and their families at this time.
