Tempe, AZ (December 30, 2019) – At least one person sustained serious injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on US 60 Monday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The Phoenix Police Department and Mesa Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the scene of the crash around 12:50 p.m. The accident occurred on westbound US 60, also known as the Superstition Freeway, near the Priest Drive off-ramp. It looks as though at least one victim was transported to an area hospital via ambulance after the multi-car accident, though their current condition remains unclear. It appears that two cars collided in the left lanes of the highway and both vehicles sustained serious damage in a rear-end incident.
Authorities say that one of the vehicles hit the concrete barrier after the initial collision.
The other victims were treated at the scene by Phoenix emergency medical technicians.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Multi-vehicle crashes are on the rise in Arizona. In fact, the Arizona Department of Transportation released a report showing that nearly 50,000 injuries occurred as a result of crashes last year. These injurious accidents mean stressful consequences for victims, who face issues like long-term physical problems, financial difficulties, and emotional trauma.
But those affected by these devastating wrecks can seek help from an accident lawyer, especially if the crash was caused by the negligent actions of another driver. With the help of a skilled lawyer, drivers who have suffered from an accident that occurred through no fault of their own can safeguard their legal rights.
