Somerton, AZ – Man Hospitalized After Car Crash on Hwy 95 in Somerton Cocopah

Somerton, AZ (December 9, 2020) – One man has been hospitalized with head injuries after an accident occurred on Monday evening in the Somerton area.

Per reports from the Somerton Cocopah Fire Department (SCFD) and Somerton Police Department, the accident happened around 6:00 p.m. on Highway 95 near milepost 7.

When rescue units arrived at the scene of the accident, they found a blue Audi TT with extensive damage on the front driver side. Authorities say that a 63-year-old was driving northbound on Highway 95 when he swerved to miss debris left on the ground. At that point, his vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole.

Paramedics transported the man to Yuma Regional Medical Center via ambulance for further evaluation. His current condition is unknown, and it’s unclear if any other victims sustained injuries in the crash.

Investigators have not released further details at this time, but their investigation continues.
