Prescott, AZ (September 29, 2019) – A truck accident on Highway 89 has left one person dead and another person injured.
According to officials from the Prescott Fire Department, a truck was driven off the Pioneer Parkway overpass above Highway 89 around 1:45 p.m. on Friday. Witnesses told troopers from the Arizona Department of Public Safety that the truck was being driven erratically when it went through the median and a cable barricade between the intersection’s two bridges. Bart Graves, an AZDPS spokesperson, said that the truck then dropped about 20 feet and landed on southbound Highway 89, hitting an SUV and landing on its hood.
The truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver was transported to Yavapai Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police are continuing to investigate the accident and have not released information about the truck driver or the company the truck was contracted under.
Our condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim. Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family in hopes of a full recovery.

The nature of truck accidents can make injuries and property damage even more serious. Additionally, when victims are involved in accidents with trucks contracted to large companies, they could face an uphill battle with insurance companies. But those affected by these sudden and stressful crashes can seek help from a personal injury lawyer, especially when they’ve been involved in a wreck resulting from other drivers’ negligent actions.
