Phoenix, AZ – UPDATE: Fernando A. Hernandez Killed in Crash at 7th St & Dunlap Ave
Phoenix, AZ (March 13, 2020) – A passenger who died in a crash in Phoenix on Thursday was identified as 54-year-old Fernando A. Hernandez, according to police officials.
Officers from the Phoenix Police Department say that the three-vehicle collision happened around 5:00 p.m. near 7th Street and Dunlap Avenue. Hernandez was a passenger in a white sedan traveling southbound on 7th Street when the driver tried to make a left turn onto east Dunlap Avenue. A white pickup truck collided with the sedan, causing it to crash into another white minivan.
Hernandez was pronounced dead at the scene, and the drivers of the truck and sedan were taken to a hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The two people traveling in the minivan were not injured. Police say it’s not yet known whether impairment might have been a factor and are still investigating at this time.
