Phoenix, AZ – UPDATE: Details Released in Truck Collision at Broadway Rd

Phoenix, AZ (October 21, 2019) – A car traveling northbound on Seventh Street hit a semi-truck at the Broadway Road intersection early on Monday morning.

According to reports from the Phoenix Police Department, the wreck caused a large fuel spill and road closures in the area. Police officials said the collision shortly after 3:30 a.m. and caused the truck’s fuel tank to rupture and leak. After the initial collision, officials at the scene stated that the semi was pushed into a traffic pole and collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle.

Both drivers involved in the crash were transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Their details have not been released and the investigation is ongoing.

The intersection of Seventh Street and Broadway Road was closed while crews worked to clean up the damage and fuel spill. The nearby Circle K parking lot was also taped off to contain the spill.
