Phoenix, AZ (January 22, 2021) – Two people have died after a serious car crash occurred in north Phoenix on Friday afternoon.

Per reports from the Phoenix Police Department, one driver’s Tesla slammed into a tree near Bell Road and 56th Street. The crash occurred around 1:00 p.m., and first responders were dispatched to the scene a short time later. Officers say the impact caused significant damage to the car, and a man and a woman were pulled from the wreckage.

Local EMTs say that both victims died at the scene. Police did not say if any other victims sustained injuries in the accident.

It’s unclear what led up to the crash, but 56th Street was closed while police investigated. The investigation continues at this time.
