Phoenix, AZ (June 9, 2020) – At least two people were injured after a wrong-way accident in Phoenix early Sunday morning.

Per reports from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the wreck happened around 1:15 a.m. on southbound Interstate 17, just before Buckeye Road.

Troopers at the scene say impairment is suspected to be a factor, but they have not released further details at this time. The interstate was closed most of the morning while investigators collected evidence at the scene.
