Phoenix, AZ (January 8, 2020) – A 2-year-old girl is in critical condition after a dog attack at a Phoenix home on Tuesday evening.

According to officers from the Phoenix Police Department, the incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at a home near 35th Avenue and Campbell Avenue. The mother of the girl told officers that the dog, which was inside the home at the time, jumped up and snatched the girl out of her arms and began attacking her.

Someone inside the home reportedly shot and killed the dog, but their identity is unknown. The child was transported to the hospital via ambulance in critical condition.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and have not said who owns the home or the dog.
