Phoenix, AZ – Serious 2-Vehicle Collision in Southbound Lanes of AZ-51

Phoenix, AZ (November 5, 2019) – Around 8:30 a.m. this morning, the Arizona Department of Transportation responded to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on AZ-51.

The accident, according to authorities, took place in the southbound lanes of the highway near East McDowell Road. It involved a dark sedan and a silver pickup truck that collided for reasons that are not yet known.

The accident led to all lanes of traffic becoming blocked, which caused massive delays in the area for some time. Debris was scattered all over the lanes due to the severity of the crash at high speeds. Both vehicles had extensive damage.

Paramedics were called to the scene and assisted those with injuries, though we do not yet know their conditions at this time.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.
