Authorities say that two sedans collided in the right lane of I-10 eastbound, also known as the Papago Freeway, at 7th Avenue around 3:10 p.m. Police and fire rescue units responded to the scene of the crash in order to assist the injured victims, though they have not released the drivers’ information or the extent of their injuries at this time. Officials are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
All lanes reopened by 4:00 p.m.

The Arizona Department of Transportation published new crash data showing nearly 35,000 accident injuries occurred across the state last year. And according to these recent numbers from 2018, more than half of last year’s 55,000 total crashes that occurred involved more than one injured victim.
