Phoenix, AZ – Rear-End Crash Causes Injuries on L-101 Price at University Dr

Phoenix, AZ (January 8, 2021) – A crash left at least one person injured on Friday afternoon in Phoenix.

Troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety shut down the center southbound lanes of Loop 101, also known as the Price Freeway, shortly before 2:00 p.m. Officers from the Phoenix Police Department stated that the accident occurred near the ramp to University Drive and Apache. The lanes were reopened a little over an hour later, though it’s unclear how the crash occurred at this time. The accident appeared to involve at least one sedan and a small SUV in a possible rear-end collision.

Phoenix EMTs were also dispatched to the scene of the wreck to treat victims and may have transported at least one victim to an area hospital. The Phoenix Police Department is still investigating and has not released the victims’ information or the current conditions of the victims.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
