Phoenix, AZ (January 4, 2020) – A 9-year-old child was transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital after a two-vehicle crash in Phoenix on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the scene near 43rd Avenue and Peoria Avenue around 3:00 p.m. Authorities from the Phoenix Police Department say that a Buick was making a left turn at Peoria Avenue when it collided with a pickup truck heading northbound.
Phoenix Fire confirmed a 29-year-old female, a 28-year-old male, and a 9-year-old were hurt in the accident, though they did not give the victims’ current conditions. One of the patients refused transportation via ambulance, but the others were transported to local trauma centers.
Nicole Minnick from the Phoenix Fire Department said that the cause of the accident is under investigation and impairment is not suspected at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families in hopes of a quick recovery.
Per recent data released by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, nearly 130,000 crashes occurred in Arizona last year alone. These crashes are part of a year-over-year rise nationwide, with a particularly high increase of fatal accidents across the state of Arizona. More than 11,000 of these serious accidents involved multiple injuries or even fatalities.
Victims of these serious accidents may have to negotiate with insurance companies from other drivers, physical pain, emotional trauma, or long-term financial difficulties. Occasionally, as a result of these incidents, victims succumb to their injuries, leaving grieving families to cope with devastating consequences.
But the victims and their families affected by these wrecks can seek help from an injury attorney. A skilled attorney can help victims seek justice and the fair compensation they deserve from suffering in an accident that occurred through no fault of their own.
