Phoenix, AZ (August 3, 2019) – A multi-vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon, August 3rd, blocked the right two lanes of I-17 at the Durango Curve.

According to officials on the scene, the wreck occurred at 5:50 p.m., after multiple vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of I-17, also known as the Black Canyon Freeway, at the Durango Curve, where I-17 and US 60 meet. Police and fire rescue units responded to the scene, which closed the two lanes of traffic for about an hour, and assisted injured victims.

The drivers’ information and their current conditions have not been released, and investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash. All lanes re-opened by 6:50 p.m.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recoveries.
