Phoenix, AZ – Multi-Vehicle Crash Blocks I-17 at Glendale Ave

Phoenix, AZ (August 21, 2019) – A multi-vehicle crash blocked all but the right lane of Interstate 17 before Glendale Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, August 21st.

Local authorities said that the crash occurred when one bus and one sedan collided in the left lanes of I-17 southbound, also known as the Black Canyon Freeway, before Glendale Avenue around 5:00 p.m. Fire rescue and police units were on the scene to assist injured victims and determine the cause of the wreck, though they have not released the drivers’ information or the extent of the injuries at this time.

All lanes reopened by 5:45 p.m.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Arizona

According to recent statewide crash numbers, more than half of last year’s 55,000 total car accidents involved two or more vehicles. And the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) notes that nearly 35,000 accident injuries occurred across Arizona in 2018.

Tragic, unforeseen results may plague victims and their families after a wreck, from long-term medical expenses and serious injuries to even job loss or death. But those affected by these unfortunate accidents can contact a Phoenix crash lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek justice from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
