Phoenix, AZ – Man Arrested After Deadly Auto Accident on Durango Street


Phoenix, AZ (June 29, 2019) – A 26-year-old man has been arrested after a deadly auto accident late Thursday, June 27th.

Phoenix police Sgt. Tommy Thompson said that Kensley Cody Dayzie was booked into Maricopa County Jail on Friday, June 28th.

He was the driver of a Chevrolet Impala in the deadly auto accident, traveling westbound on Durango Street at excessive speed around 11:10 p.m. when the accident occurred and killed the passenger in the car with him.

Witnesses told the authorities that the Impala ran a red light at 35th Avenue and failed to turn at the intersection, flipping onto the roof. It plunged into the canal as a result of the auto accident.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Daria Quimayousie.
