Phoenix, AZ – Injury Rear-End Crash Reported on L-101 at Thomas Rd

Phoenix, AZ (August 5, 2020) – A crash left at least one person injured on Wednesday afternoon in Phoenix.

Troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety shut down the right and center southbound lanes of Loop 101, also known as the Pima Freeway, shortly before 6:00 p.m. Officers from the Phoenix Police Department stated that the accident occurred just after the exit at Thomas Road. The lanes were reopened a little over an hour later, though it’s unclear how the crash occurred at this time. Initial reports stated that the accident appeared to involve at least two vehicles in a possible rear-end collision.

Phoenix EMTs were also dispatched to the scene of the wreck to treat victims and may have transported at least one victim to an area hospital. However, the Phoenix Police Department is still investigating and has not released the victims’ information or their current conditions.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
