Phoenix, AZ (November 30, 2019) – A crash has closed the Interstate 10 westbound lanes south of the Valley near Casa Blanca Road at milepost 178, resulting in at least one serious injury.
According to the Arizona Department of Transportation, officials say the multi-vehicle collision has forced them to close the Interstate for the investigation. Officials are still working to determine the cause of the crash and have not released further information but say paramedics were on the scene to transport at least one victim to the hospital.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
According to data released by the Arizona Department of Transportation, nearly 130,000 crashes occurred throughout the state last year, with almost 11,000 involving at least two vehicles. Of the many highways in Arizona, Interstate 10 claims one of the highest rates of serious multi-vehicle accidents. And these multi-car crashes mean more stress for victims and can result in serious injuries, affecting the parties involved on a long-term basis.
In fact, multi-vehicle accidents can cause emotional distress, long-term physical problems, issues with insurance companies, and even lost wages for victims. However, victims and their families can seek help from a personal injury lawyer and learn more about safeguarding their legal rights after a crash.
