Phoenix, AZ (July 24, 2020) – A multi-car crash blocked several lanes of Loop 101 at Elliot Road on Friday evening and resulted in at least one injury.

Officials say that the crash appeared to involve at least two cars that collided in the right lanes of L-101 southbound, also known as the Price Freeway, at the Elliot Road off-ramp around 8:15 p.m. Authorities from the Phoenix Police Department said that the accident appeared to be caused by a rear-end incident, but further details about the events leading up to the crash were not released.

Police and fire rescue units assisted injured victims and worked to determine the cause of the apparent chain-reaction crash. EMTs were also at the scene and may have transported at least one victim to the hospital; however, authorities from the Phoenix Police Department have not released the victims’ information at this time.

The accident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
