Phoenix, AZ (September 12, 2019) – Police said that a hit-and-run pedestrian crash took place at the intersection of Central Avenue and Southern Avenue on Wednesday evening.
The accident took place on September 11 around 11:49 p.m. A 36-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was struck by a 2006 Range Rover that was headed northbound.
Police said the woman had not been in a crosswalk at the time. She was immediately rushed to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Range Rover almost stopped at the scene but then took off and did not stop.
Police later discovered the Range Rover in a parking lot, abandoned. However, it was missing its license plates. The investigation into the accident continues at this time as police search for the driver.
