Phoenix, AZ – Car Crash Blocks L-101 at 7th St

Phoenix, AZ (August 5, 2019) – A multi-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon, August 5th, blocked the right lanes of traffic on Loop 101 on top of 7th Street.

Officials at the scene said that the accident occurred around 4:35 p.m. when multiple vehicles collided in the westbound lanes of L-101, also known as the Pima Freeway. Police and fire rescue units responded to crash to assist injured victims and investigate the cause of the wreck, which appeared to involve at least two SUVs.

All lanes reopened just after 5:15 p.m., though the drivers’ information and their current conditions have not been released at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recoveries.

Multi-Vehicle Wrecks in Arizona

The Arizona Department of Transportation’s latest report shows that more than 35,000 accident injuries occurred across the state in 2018 alone, a number that’s part of a year-over-year rise in serious wrecks since 2015. And nearly 55,000 accidents total occurred in Arizona, with most of those involving multiple vehicles and more than one injured victim.

Exorbitant medical costs, serious injuries and even job loss or death may plague victims and their families after an accident. However, victims can contact a Phoenix accident lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek fair compensation from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
