Phoenix, AZ (January 1, 2020) – Six people have been hospitalized after a serious crash in Phoenix early Wednesday morning.

Officials from the Phoenix Fire Department say that the crash occurred near 15th Street and Yale Street, near the major cross streets of 16th Street and Thomas Road. An officer at the scene said that five people were in an SUV that crashed into a brick wall at the scene. A woman was sitting in a parked car when her vehicle was struck by the SUV.

Officials treated six patients, including four people in critical condition, at the crash scene and transported them to the hospital. The patients in critical condition are said to be men between the ages of 18 and 29. Two other patients are in stable condition, with one who refused to be taken to the hospital via ambulance.

The driver of the SUV, a 21-year-old, was found to have a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .18, according to police. The accident remains under investigation at this time.
