Phoenix, AZ (November 3, 2019) – Two Phoenix police officers were hurt in a crash with a DUI driver on Saturday night.

According to reports from the Phoenix Police Department, the incident occurred near the area of Interstate 17 and Bell Road. The two officers were conducting a traffic stop when another driver failed to control the speed of their vehicle and rear-ended the police vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Both officers were transported to a local hospital for minor injuries. The driver was also transported to a hospital via ambulance for the injuries they sustained.

The driver who crashed into the police vehicle was cited for DUI charges, per reports from police. Their information, as well as the officers’ information, has not been released at this time, though the accident remains under investigation.
