Peoria, AZ (August 10, 2019) – A deadly pedestrian accident closed Loop 101 northbound at Peoria on Saturday morning, August 10th.

According to officials, L-101 was closed for several hours as Peoria Police and the Arizona Department of Public Safety investigated a deadly pedestrian crash, which occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. on the stretch of highway in Peoria, also known as the Agua Fria Freeway. The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, though the pedestrian’s information has not been released. It is unclear how the pedestrian entered the roadway or if the driver will be charged.
