Peoria, AZ – Multi-Vehicle Crash at 85th Ave & Northern Ave

Peoria, AZ (August 9, 2019) – A multi-vehicle wreck occurred early Friday morning, August 9th, near 85th Avenue and Northern Avenue.

Peoria police were at the scene to investigate the accident, which involved two vehicles and occurred around 3:00 a.m. According to officials, the driver of one of the vehicles was allegedly traveling the wrong way on the Northern Avenue off-ramp from the Loop 101, though the vehicle did not make it to the highway. That car was then involved in a crash with another vehicle at 85th and Northern Avenues, but it is unclear if the driver of the vehicle was still traveling in the wrong direction at the time that the crash occurred.

Two victims were transported to the hospital with injuries. The roadway remained closed as police investigated the cause of the crash, but impairment is suspected as a factor in the accident.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recoveries.

Multi-Vehicle Wrecks in Arizona

The Arizona Department of Transportation’s most recent report showed that more than 35,000 accident injuries occurred across the state last year, part of a year-over-year rise in serious injuries from accidents since 2015. And of the nearly 55,000 total vehicle accidents last year, more than half of those crashes involved several vehicles and more than one injured victim.

From serious long-term injuries and costly medical bills to even job loss, tragic results may befall victims and their families after an accident. But those affected by injury crashes can contact a Phoenix accident lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek fair compensation and justice from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
