Peoria, AZ – Fiery Semi-Truck Crash Results in Injuries on L-101 Near Peoria
Peoria, AZ (March 10, 2020) – Rush hour traffic slowed to a crawl on Tuesday after a serious crash occurred on northbound Loop 101 near the Peoria exit.
Authorities from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) say that a semi-truck collided into the median wall and caught fire. The Fry’s Food Store truck was shown on its side, and the freeway wall was blackened from fire. Scorched debris was also strewn in the area, and multiple fire trucks and ambulances surrounded the scene.
DPS officials say that there were injuries reported, but it’s not clear how many people were hurt. The crash shut down the Peoria on-ramp, and several lanes of the freeway were blocked.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
