Peoria, AZ – Diver Drowns at Lake Pleasant Harbor Near Peoria

Peoria, AZ (November 16, 2019) – A diver at Lake Pleasant died Saturday evening after taking part in a scuba event at the harbor near Peoria.

According to reports from a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Enriquez, the 55-year-old man was diving with a group of 10 divers near the Lake Pleasant harbor around 8:00 p.m. when he began to have difficulties with his diving equipment. When he was pulled out of the water, the man wasn’t responsive.

Enriquez says CPR efforts were made to revive the man before local EMTs arrived at the scene. However, the man died at the scene before paramedics were able to transport him to an area hospital. MCSO Lake Patrol detectives have taken over the investigation, and though the man’s name has not been released, the drowning accident remains under investigation.

Our condolences go out to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
