New River, AZ (May 7, 2020) – The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office responded to a serious multi-car accident that blocked the left lane of Interstate 17 near New River.

According to information from the scene, at least two vehicles collided in the left lanes of southbound I-17, or the Black Canyon Freeway, around 7:00 p.m. Rescue units from the Yavapai Fire Department were at the scene to treat victims, although no word has been given on the severity of the victims’ injuries.

Officials are still working to determine the cause of the crash and have not released further information about those involved.
