Mesa, AZ (September 28, 2020) – At least one person has sustained injuries after a multi-car crash that occurred on Loop 101 near Baseline Road on Monday afternoon.

Officers with the Mesa Police Department and DPS troopers say that they were dispatched to the scene of the accident around 4:30 p.m. Per initial reports, the wreck occurred in the left lanes of northbound Loop 101, also known as the Price Freeway. Authorities say that at least one driver sustained injuries in the collision and may have been transported to a hospital via ambulance for evaluation. News footage showed Mesa EMTs at the scene to treat victims shortly after the wreck occurred.

Mesa officers have not released further details but say that at least three cars appeared to be involved in the collision, caused by a chain-reaction accident after a rear-end wreck.

The cause of this accident is currently under investigation. Officers are still piecing together the events leading up to the accident.
