Mesa, AZ – Officials Requesting Information After Auto Accident Near Southern Avenue


Mesa, AZ (July 5, 2019) – The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help after a fatal hit-and-run auto accident on late Monday night.

The incident occurred in Laveen, near Mesa at 47th Avenue and Southern Avenue around 10:50 p.m.

According to officials, 27-year-old Millard Gaines was pushing a shopping cart when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. The vehicle did not stop or contact authorities. 

Authorities believe the vehicle may be a 1999-2006 Chevrolet pick-up truck or SUV, but the color and model are currently unknown. Based on evidence located at the scene of the auto accident, however, the vehicle should have damage to the headlight, grill and front-end area.
