Mesa, AZ – Multi-Vehicle Wreck Blocks Left Lanes on L-202 at L-101

Mesa, AZ (August 12, 2019) – A multi-vehicle wreck blocked the HOV and left lanes of Loop 202 before Loop 101 on Monday morning, August 12th.

According to officials at the scene, at least two SUVs collided on L-202 westbound, also known as the Red Mountain Freeway, around 8:43 a.m. Fire rescue units, as well as Mesa police, responded to the crash shortly after it occurred and assisted injured victims. Authorities were also working to determine the cause of the wreck, though the drivers’ information is not known at this time.

All lanes reopened just before 10:00 a.m., but traffic remained slow in the area through noon.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Injury Accidents in Arizona

The Arizona Department of Transportation’s latest report showed that more than 35,000 injuries as a result of car crashes occurred across the state in 2018. And nearly 55,000 accidents total occurred, with more than half of those involving at least two vehicles and two or more injured victims.

Whether it’s long-term injuries and exorbitant medical costs or even job loss, tragic consequences may befall victims and their families after a serious crash. However, those affected by injury accidents can contact a Phoenix car accident lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek fair compensation and the justice they deserve from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
