Mesa, AZ – Multi-Vehicle Crash Blocks Traffic on L-202 Past Dobson Rd

Mesa, AZ (August 14, 2019) – A multi-vehicle crash blocked the HOV lane on Loop 202 past Dobson Road on Wednesday afternoon, August 14th.

Officials say that the crash occurred when at least two vehicles collided on L-202 eastbound, also known as the Red Mountain Freeway, at Dobson Road around 5:42 p.m. Fire rescue units and local police authorities responded to the scene of the crash and were assisting injured victims. They are still working to determine the cause of the wreck, though the drivers’ information and the extent of their injuries were not released.

All lanes reopened just before 6:15 p.m., but traffic remained slow in the area.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Arizona

Data from the Arizona Department of Transportation showed that nearly 35,000 injuries resulted from car crashes across the state in 2018. And of the nearly 55,000 total accidents, more than half involved at least two vehicles.

Serious injuries, long-term medical costs, and job loss or even death are just some of the tragic consequences that affect victims and their families after a wreck. However, those affected can contact a Phoenix accident lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek the justice they deserve from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
