Mesa, AZ – Investigation Ongoing After Boy Hit and Killed in Auto Accident


Mesa, AZ (June 30, 2019) – According to an official statement released on June 29th, the investigation into an auto accident that left one child dead is still ongoing.

The 4-year-old boy was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike on Thursday, June 27th, reported the Mesa Police Department on Saturday.

Irene Mahoney, a public information officer of the Mesa Police Department, says that the driver hit the boy after driving away from a home and may have also backed over the child. The specific location of the accident is currently not available.

Per officials, it is still unknown if impairment was a factor in the auto accident. No charges are currently filed.
