Mesa, AZ – Injuries Reported in Hit-and-Run Crash at Hawes Rd

Phoenix, AZ – Serious Wrong-Way Accident on I-17

Mesa, AZ (September 30, 2019) – A multi-car crash on Sunday evening resulted in injuries and a hit-and-run situation.

Officials from the Mesa Police Department say the wreck happened just before 8:00 p.m. near Hawes Road and Broadway Road. Two cars collided at the intersection and then struck an electrical utility box, causing a power outage.

Mesa paramedics responded to the accident and treated victims at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. One of the drivers of the automobiles that were involved ran from the accident scene, according to police. Police have not identified that individual and have not released details about the injuries or vehicles involved.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.

Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families in hopes of a full recovery.

Hit-and-Run Accidents in Arizona

Nearly 1,000 fatalities occurred across the state as a result of auto accidents in 2017, capping a 10-year high for Arizona. Many of these accidents were caused by hit-and-run drivers, who are more prone to leave the scene after serious property damage, injuries, or even deaths.

From costly medical expenses to job loss and long-term injuries, tragic consequences are all too common for victims after a hit-and-run crash. However, victims and their families can contact a car accident attorney in Phoenix for help.
