Mesa, AZ (June 4, 2020) – A bicyclist was transported to the hospital with critical injuries on Thursday after an accident with a semi-truck in Mesa.

Per officers with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 1:00 p.m. near 83rd Place and Apache Trail. There are no further details about the cause of the accident or the name of the victim, but officers say that the scene remains active as Vehicle Crimes Detectives continue the investigation.

Apache Trail in the westbound direction was closed at 83rd Place for several hours while authorities investigated.
