Laveen, AZ (January 11, 2020) –An overturned sewage truck caused a major hazardous material situation and at least two serious injuries on Saturday afternoon.
According to officials from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a rollover crash caused a spill involving animal waste from a sewage truck on Estrella Parkway near the on-ramp for the new Loop 202 in the Laveen area. DPS says diesel fuel also leaked from the truck as a result of the collision’s impact.
Two people were transported to the hospital for their injuries after the crash, though their current conditions are unknown.
DPS is still investigating what caused the crash.
