Goodyear, AZ – Injury Wreck Closes Several Lanes on I-10 at Estrella Pkwy

Goodyear, AZ (August 23, 2019) – A serious injury accident blocked nearly all lanes of Interstate 10 at Estrella Parkway on Friday morning, August 23rd.

Authorities at the scene said that the crash occurred when multiple vehicles collided in the left lanes of I-10 westbound, also known as the Papago Freeway, at Estrella Parkway around 11:30 a.m. Police and fire rescue units responded to assist injured victims but have not determined the cause of the accident or released the drivers’ information at this time. The crash caused major backups in the area and left only the HOV lane open.

All lanes cleared by 1:00 p.m.; however, traffic remained slow in the area.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.

Injury Crashes in Arizona

Nearly 35,000 injuries occurred as a result of car accidents across Arizona last year. And from the 55,000 total crashes that occurred in 2018, more than half involved at least two injured victims, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

Serious car accidents result in tragic consequences for victims and their families, including expensive medical bills, extensive property damage, and serious long-term injuries. However, those affected by these serious incidents can contact a Phoenix vehicle crash lawyer for help, and in some cases, seek compensation from a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit.
