Over the last several years, the rate of deadly pedestrian crashes has increased nationwide, particularly in Arizona. In fact, nearly 1,600 pedestrians were struck and killed in Arizona between 2010 and 2018, primarily in large cities like Phoenix and Tucson, as well as these cities’ surrounding suburbs. Per data from the Arizona Department of Transportation, authorities are still seeing a year-over-year rise in fatal pedestrian accidents.
