Glendale, AZ (May 27, 2020) – A 64-year-old woman died early on Wednesday after a multi-car crash on State Route 169 at Interstate 17

According to officials dispatched to the scene, the Jeep she was driving collided with two pickup trucks on SR 169. The wreck occurred shortly before 4:00 a.m. when her Jeep crossed the center line for an unknown reason and sideswiped a pickup truck, per reports from the Arizona Department of Public Safety. The Jeep then collided head-on with another pickup truck.

Both of the trucks were heading northbound on SR 169 at the time of the crash. The driver of the Jeep died at the location, though DPS officials did not reveal the driver’s name.

The driver of the first truck sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the truck in the head-on crash was flown to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

SR 169 was closed for several hours for the investigation, which is still ongoing.
