Gilbert, AZ (April 26, 2020) – A two-year-old girl was rescued from a residential pool in Gilbert on Friday evening, the Gilbert Fire Department confirmed.

According to authorities at the scene, the drowning happened at a location near Higley Road and Riggs Road. Gilbert fire officials said that the little girl was unresponsive when she was pulled from the water. CPR was performed and she was transported to Gilbert Mercy Hospital via ambulance. Later, she was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where she remains on life support.

It’s unknown how long the girl was underwater, though the investigation is ongoing.
