Flagstaff, AZ – One Dead and One Critically Injured in Auto Accident Near Paulden


Flagstaff, AZ (June 24, 2019) – On Saturday, June 22rdnd, an auto accident killed one person and injured another on State Route 89 just outside of Paulden.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), troopers responded to the head-on collision near milepost 340 around 4:00 p.m. near Drake. One of the vehicles, operated by a male driver, was traveling southbound and passed in a no-passing zone, colliding head-on with the other driver in the northbound lane.

The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the other car sustained serious injuries. She remains in critical condition. 

Both drivers were alone in their vehicles. The investigation is ongoing, and DPS as not released the names of the drivers at this time.
