Chandler, AZ (September 13, 2019) – A rollover crash sent one person to the hospital and later resulted in a vehicle theft on Friday morning.
According to a report from the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a woman’s vehicle rolled over following a collision on Interstate 10 around 1:30 a.m.
DPS officials said that the boyfriend of the woman who crashed was driving ahead of her car in a pickup truck. When she crashed, he pulled over to assist her. While his truck was pulled over, someone stole it and drove away from the scene.
At that point, medical units arrived on the scene and transported the woman to the hospital.
The Chandler Police Department is still investigating and has not released the woman’s current condition. The stolen truck has not been located at this time.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for her full recovery.
According to a study from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Arizona is one of the top five most dangerous states in the country for drivers. Fatalities and injuries are especially prevalent during the summer months. The study, which tracked injuries and fatalities between May and September, reported that Interstate 10 had 100 fatalities during that time.
It’s clear that these serious incidents are an unfortunate reality of life in Arizona. Those who sustain crash injuries go through physical and emotional trauma, having to document their injuries, negotiate with insurance companies, and even take time from work or deal with job loss. But individuals who are affected can seek help from a personal injury lawyer, especially if they’ve been involved in an accident that’s caused by the negligent actions of another driver.
